How does LMS license count users?

Below are the rules how LMS license counts users.

If REM is not installed on the farm, LMS license counts:

1. Only users that are in course Learners group and in any custom groups with Learner permission level;
2. Users in a course Learners group are counted only once (if the same user is added to Learner group in several courses, the user is counted only once);
3. AD group members added to course Learner group, except members which AD accounts are disabled;
4. AD user accounts added to course Learner group, regardless AD account status (enabled/disabled).

If REM is installed on the farm, LMS license counts as well users who have at least one registration with ‘Enrolled’ or ‘Waiting for Start Date’ status on the REM courses.

Users who have registrations with ‘Wait for Approval’, ‘Certificate Expired’, ‘Cancelled’, ‘In Waiting List’, ‘Course Completed’, and ‘Course Not Completed’ statuses are not counted in the license unless they are added to the Learners group on the LMS course.

If a user is both a member of Learners group on LMS course and has registrations (with ‘Waiting for Start Date’ and ‘Enrolled’ statuses) on REM site, he is counted in LMS license only once.
