On-going maintenance primarily involves several factors:
- application and database backups, periodic reviews of data stored in the database and the application of all appropriate service packs and updates for SharePointLMS and the server on which it resides
- a properly constructed database maintenance plan would include both full and incremental backups of the database and transaction log files and rebuilding of the table indexes
- a file system backup will ensure protection of the SharePointLMS application files and all course-related files
- finally, periodic reviews of the database to remove outdated, non-essential data will help ensure that your production database will be able to meet all of its future performance objectives. Proper backups ensure that this data will always be available particularly if federal or state law requires data to be accessible for a certain time period.
